Once you know what kind of deck you want to put together you will want to make sure that you spend your DP on the right character packs. You will go further in the game if you have one strong deck as opposed to several half-finished decks. Make sure when you are putting together your decks you use the 'Related Cards' feature in the Deck Editor to see what cards have synergy and go well with the cards you want to build a deck with. Once you have accumulated a lot of cards and are bored with your original deck it is then time to build another deck or experiment with the cards you have. To start with you should focus on building one very good deck for the purpose of getting you through a lot of duels quickly so you can easily grind them for DP. Make a note of what kinds of decks your opponents use and then start putting together a deck which you think will be effective against them. It is not until you start earning DP from duels and start spending it on card packs and getting rewards from victories that your card collection will begin to grow. When you begin playing Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist you won't have many cards in your trunk.
